Born 1977, Jumoke Sanwo is a self-taught photographer and uses the medium in conjunction with, text and video-art as her means of expression. She holds a B.A. (Hons.) in English Studies from the Obafemi Awolowo University. Her works address aesthetic concerns, with a focus on enlightenment, religion, technology and mobility, which fosters new narratives on re-imaging the African continent in the 21st Century.
Her “Faces Project” and Silence Des Femme was presented under the platform of Invisible Borders at the 2015 Venice Art Biennale “All The Worlds Future”. Her work has been exhibited as part of group shows and projects in Lagos, Ghana, South Africa and internationally – Amsterdam, London, New York, Berlin, Brussels and Dubai.
